THE AS and A LEVEL PROGRAMMES OF STUDY

AS LEVEL

Students are likely to be assessed with a two hour exam that covers factors affecting participation in physical activity and sport. Topics are likely to include: applied physiology; skill acquisition and sports psychology; sport and society; and technology in sport. Students will also be assessed practically as a performer or coach in the full sided version of one activity. Within this element students will also need to provide written and or verbal analysis of performance. The balance of theory to practical within the AS Level programme of study is likely to be 70% theory and 30% practical.

A LEVEL

Students will also be assessed practically as a performer or coach in the full sided version of one activity. Within this element students will also need to provide written and or verbal analysis of performance. The balance of theory to practical within the A Level programme of study is likely to be 70% theory and 30% practical.
