Attendance
WHY IS GOOD ATTENDANCE IMPORTANT FOR YOU?
Regular attendance creates consistency in your learning and this leads to:-
* School work being easier to cope with
* You feeling more secure
* Work being more satisfying
* Better results
* Better job prospects and references
* Increased self esteem
We wish you to maintain high levels of attendance.
Your parents are asked to telephone or send a message
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE when you are absent.
What is meant by unauthorised absence?
* Law allows some absences. For example if you are
ill or there is a family crisis such as a funeral. However,
there are other times when you are absent which ARE NOT
PERMITTED, such as taking days off at the end of term
or having a birthday.
* We realise that on some occasions there may be a particular problem that
causes you to be absent. We ask that your parents let us know and we will deal
with this sympathetically.
* Sometimes illness strikes and you will need time to recover. If you are frequently
ill on the same day each week we will investigate to see if there is something
wrong at school. If there is let us know.
* Wherever possible ALL appointments, including dental and medical, should
be made OUTSIDE school time.
Bus Tickets - ECC have a "no ticket no ride" policy. If a student forgets or loses their bus ticket, they can obtain a temporary one from the Student Administration office. Replacement tickets should be ordered directly from the Passenger Transport Coordination Centre (PTCC). Please call 0845 603 2200 and ask for the PTCC Systems Team - an administrative charge (currently £7.50) is payable by debit or credit card at the time of order. For those students who travel on Fourways or Jacksons private buses, the operators should be contacted directly. |
